Let’s Hope The Movie Is Exactly Like These Hellboy Posters

For now, all we have is a picture. For now, we’ll take it.

A picture released a few weeks over at Entertainment Weekly, shows the first look at David Harbour’s Hellboy. What you may notice, aside from the stunning depiction of the character, is that the Hellboy has not one, but both horns on his head. I warn you. Don’t overlook it. This small detail eludes to something bigger.

Hellboy is the Beast of the Apocalypse who wields a power most comic book characters dream. And his right hand, dubbed the Hand of Doom, is capable of massive destruction.

But how?

The Hand is equipped with the power to unlock the Primordial Demon Dragon. Once unlocked, the dragon is charged with reigning down terror and destruction on all in its path.

Don’t let his power fool you. Hellboy is an anomaly in his world.

Sent to Earth for the sole purpose of carrying out destruction, he instead spends his time partying, drinking, and having a good time. He, quite frankly, has zero desire to cause harms to those around him. In fact, he symbolically shows this after he shaves the horns on his forehead down to nothing but stumps.

There is a time and place for violence, demons, and power. If these Hellboy posters mean anything, that time and place is now.

From what we know so far, the story follows the character as he does battle with an ancient sorceress (Blood Queen) who aims to bring a swift end to humanity. Mila Jovovich is set to become the Blood Queen and we should all be excited. With her comes more genre experience than the movie could possibly have hoped for. She rose to fame in the fan-favorite Fifth Element and solidified herself during Resident Evil.

Hellboy will hit theatres April 12, 2019 and stars David Harbour, Mila Jovovich, Ian McShane, and is directed by Neil Marshall.
