Fans of The Office have something new to look forward to as the first clip from the upcoming spinoff series, The Paper, has been released.

The series is set in the same fictional universe as The Office but follows a completely new group of characters. It is scheduled to premiere on Peacock on September 4, 2025, with all ten episodes releasing at once.

The Paper is created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. It focuses on the Toledo Truth-Teller, a historic but struggling newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. A documentary crew follows the staff as they try to revive the paper using a team of volunteer reporters.

Daniels, who developed The Office, and Koman are also executive producers, alongside Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, and Ben Silverman. Universal Television is producing the show.

The cast brings together both new faces and familiar ones. Domhnall Gleeson stars as Ned Sampson, the new editor-in-chief, while Sabrina Impacciatore plays Esmeralda Grand. Other main cast members include Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nunez.

Nunez reprises his role as Oscar Martinez from The Office, providing a connection to the original series. The recurring cast features names like Allan Havey, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts.

The show was first announced in early 2024, with Daniels and Koman developing the concept for a new office environment. Production began in July 2024. Over the following months, the cast was gradually revealed, with the final key roles, including Nunez’s return, announced in early 2025.

The first clip from the series gives viewers a glimpse into the humor and style of the show. It highlights the chaos and ambition of the Toledo Truth-Teller staff as they work to save their newspaper while under the scrutiny of a documentary crew, much like the Scranton branch was in The Office.

The clip has already sparked excitement among fans, promising a mix of nostalgia and fresh storytelling.
