Bryan Fuller is stepping into the director’s chair with his upcoming horror thriller, Dust Bunny. Fuller not only directs the movie but also wrote and produced it. The film features a strong cast, including Mads Mikkelsen, Sigourney Weaver, and David Dastmalchian.

The story centers on a young girl named Aurora, played by Sophie Sloan. After a monster under her bed kills her family, she asks her neighbor for help to stop it. Rebecca Henderson and Sheila Atim also appear in the movie.

Dust Bunny was first announced in late 2022. Mads Mikkelsen signed on as the lead actor early in the project. In June 2023, Sigourney Weaver confirmed her role to the New York Social Diary, saying she plays “another person who’s not so nice, opposite Mikkelsen.” Later that year, David Dastmalchian joined the cast.

Filming took place in Budapest starting in June 2023. Because the production is not part of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the team was allowed to continue shooting during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.

Fans will get their first chance to see Dust Bunny at the Toronto International Film Festival. It is scheduled to premiere in the Midnight Madness program on September 9. The movie will then hit theaters in the United States on December 5. The first trailer has already been released, giving a glimpse of the eerie story and the talented cast.

Dust Bunny looks like it could be a thrilling mix of horror and suspense, especially with actors like Mads Mikkelsen and Sigourney Weaver on board. The premise of a child facing a deadly monster is simple but effective, and I’m curious to see how Fuller handles it in his first feature. What do you think about the movie?
