Netflix has revealed when The Witcher will return, and fans finally have a date to mark on their calendars.

Season 4 of the fantasy series will land on October 30, bringing with it a big change as Liam Hemsworth takes over the role of Geralt of Rivia.

To go along with the announcement, Netflix shared a short teaser and some photos from the upcoming season. The clip gives the first real look at Hemsworth in action as the monster-hunting witcher.

At one point he faces a deadly wraith, declaring, “With these words, your mortal shell shall meet my fate in fiery hell!” before cutting down the creature in a brutal fight. The teaser closes with The Witcher logo appearing on screen.

The streaming service also gave a short preview of what to expect in the new season. “After the Continent-altering events of Season Three, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…”

Hints of the release date surfaced even before the official reveal. Fans noticed that Hemsworth is booked to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show on October 28, just two days before the new episodes drop, suggesting that Netflix timed his talk show stop to line up with promotion for the season.

The Witcher first premiered in 2019, with Henry Cavill leading the series for three seasons. Cavill stepped away in 2022, leaving Hemsworth to pick up the role of Geralt. Netflix has already confirmed that the series will wrap up with a fifth season after Season 4. Alongside Hemsworth, the cast includes Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Eamon Farren, and Joey Batey.

Season 4 of The Witcher premieres October 30 on Netflix.

It’s going to be interesting to see how fans react to Hemsworth stepping into such a well-known role. Cavill’s performance is a tough act to follow, but the teaser shows Hemsworth bringing his own energy to the character. What do you think? Are you excited to see him as Geralt, or do you still prefer Cavill? Share your thoughts in the comments.
