Netflix released a new teaser for Stranger Things Season 5 during the Emmys, but most of it is recycled footage. The teaser mainly features clips from the season 5 trailer that dropped in July, along with older scenes from season 1 to highlight the characters’ journey, according to sources.

The teaser has very little dialogue. The only lines spoken are, “This thing, it ties us together forever,” “Let’s end this kid,” and Vecna’s iconic, “Found you.” Fans were expecting more new content, but the teaser was intended to introduce the show to CBS viewers who may have missed the earlier trailer.

Another point of interest is the TV-MA rating at the beginning of the teaser. Stranger Things has been rated TV-14 since the first season. Netflix has adjusted the age rating over time, but the series still appears as TV-14 for all seasons on the platform. Some fans believe season 5 may be darker, and the TV-MA stamp in the teaser has fueled speculation.

The teaser also mentioned a release date of Thanksgiving, November 27, for Volume 1. In reality, the episodes will drop on November 26 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. Viewers in Europe and other time zones will see the episodes in the early hours of November 27.
