Bethesda Fans Might Be Waiting a Long Time for Fallout 5. A recent report has sparked concerns for fans eagerly awaiting Fallout 5.

It has now been 10 years since Fallout 4 came out, which is already a longer gap than the five years between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. And the news suggests the wait isn’t over anytime soon.

The information comes from industry insider eXtas1s, who shared details in a YouTube video.

He claimed that Bethesda Game Studios, along with Xbox, are aiming to release The Elder Scrolls 6 in 2027. If this is accurate, it could push Fallout 5 development far into the future.

“If The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out in 2027, it would mean development started in 2023 after Starfield shipped,” eXtas1s said. “That’s a normal AAA timeline, but it also suggests Fallout 5 won’t start until after that.”

Following this logic, if Bethesda sticks to its usual development pace, Fallout 5 could arrive as late as 2031.

That’s likely during the era of the PS6 and the next Xbox consoles. The only way it could happen sooner is if Bethesda expanded its team to work on two big projects at once, but there’s no evidence that’s happening.

For now, Fallout fans will have to be patient. The next chapter in the post-apocalyptic series could still be more than six years away.
