Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, rejoining the series after missing the previous movie. Courteney Cox is back as Gale Weathers, and David Arquette reprises his role as Dewey Riley.

Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown will continue playing Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin. Joining the cast are Isabel May as Sidney’s daughter and Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband, Mark Evans.

Longtime fans will also see Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley return in some capacity as their original characters, Stu Macher and Roman Bridger. Other actors with roles that are not yet revealed include Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Michelle Randolph, and Jimmy Tatro.

Scream 7’s production faced several changes. After the directors of Scream (2022) and Scream VI left in 2023, Christopher Landon was brought in but later departed.

There were also departures from stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, which caused the project to be reworked. Campbell confirmed her return in March 2024, and Williamson stepped in to direct. Filming began in Atlanta, Georgia, in January under the working title Scar Tissue and wrapped up in March.

Campbell noted that filming was initially scheduled to start in September 2024 but was delayed until December due to scheduling conflicts.
