Jensen Ackles Admits One ‘The Boys’ Season 5 Scene Shocked Him to the Point of Leaving
At Creation Entertainment’s “The Road So Far, The Road Ahead” event in Philadelphia, Misha Collins and Jensen Ackles gave fans a glimpse into some exciting moments from the upcoming fifth and final season of The Boys.
Collins, who reunited with Jared Padalecki and Ackles for the season, teased that fans can expect some big surprises in the new episodes.
Ackles also shared a story about one scene that left him so shocked he had to briefly walk off set. “I walk into the scene. Soldier Boy. And I turn the corner and I go, ‘Oh my god.’ That wasn’t my line,” Ackles said, earning laughter from the audience.
“And I was supposed to stay there. But I hadn’t seen what was going on. We’d blocked it out. We rehearsed it. Things changed when the camera was rolling, and I hadn’t seen it. And I walked in and it was, ‘Dear God,’ and I just walked back out. And they were like, ‘Uh, cut?’ And I was like, ‘I’m sorry. I wasn’t prepared for that [laughter]. And I don’t think anybody else will be either.’”

Collins added that the video announcing the trio’s reunion pulled in millions of viewers and hinted that the episode includes other “surprise guests.” He also mentioned that after filming their scene, director Philip Sgriccia, a longtime collaborator from Supernatural, called for another take to make sure everything worked perfectly.

The fifth season of The Boys, developed by Eric Kripke, will be the show’s final run. It stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Jensen Ackles, with Daveed Diggs joining the cast.
The season is produced by Sony Pictures Television along with Point Grey Pictures, Original Film, Kripke Enterprises, Kickstart Entertainment, and KFL Nightsky Productions.
Ackles and Padalecki seemed just as excited as fans, with Padalecki saying, “I can’t wait,” and Ackles adding to the crowd, “Enjoy!”
