Actors Revealed For McCartneys in Sam Mendes’ Upcoming Beatles Biopic

Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal have been officially cast to play Linda and Paul McCartney in Sam Mendes’ ambitious Beatles biopic project, sources report. The four-part film series will explore the lives of each member of the legendary band, with each movie focusing on one Beatle’s perspective.

Mendes’ goal is to show how four young men from Liverpool rose to global fame and eventually parted ways in 1970.

Ronan, a four-time Oscar nominee, will portray Linda McCartney, Paul’s wife and collaborator in the post-Beatles band Wings. Paul Mescal will take on the role of Sir Paul McCartney. Linda, who passed away in 1998 from cancer, was an integral part of Paul’s musical journey after the Beatles.

The other members of the Fab Four have also been cast. Harrison Dickinson will play John Lennon, Joseph Quinn is set as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan will take the role of Ringo Starr. Additional cast details have not yet been revealed.

According to Sony Pictures, all four films will be released in April 2028, offering what they describe as the “first binge-able theatrical experience.” Each film will intersect with the others, showing how the individual stories of Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr combine to form the larger Beatles narrative.

This project promises an in-depth look at the personal and professional lives of the Beatles, capturing both their rise to fame and the tensions that led to their split.
