Netflix Set to Bring Multiplayer Party Games to Your TV This Holiday Season
Netflix is expanding its gaming efforts with a new lineup of multiplayer party games for TV, set to launch this holiday season.
The company revealed that subscribers will be able to pick a game from a dedicated tab and use their phone as a controller, a process Netflix describes as “as easy as streaming a show on a Friday night.”
The initial selection of games includes Lego Party, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends—which has been compared to Among Us, alongside versions of Boggle and Pictionary. Completing the lineup is Tetris Time Warp, which seems to resemble the minigame from Digital Eclipse’s Tetris Forever collection released last year.
Netflix has been involved in mobile gaming for several years, but cloud-based multiplayer games for TV became a clear focus at the start of 2025.
At the Game Developers Conference in March, Netflix gaming CEO Alain Tascan outlined multiplayer games as one of four key pillars in the company’s gaming strategy, alongside narrative-driven titles, kid-friendly options, and mainstream experiences like Squid Game.
There isn’t an exact release date yet for the new TV games, but Netflix has confirmed that they are “coming soon.”
The approach is intended to make playing co-op games on the TV simple and accessible, leveraging phones as controllers to keep the experience smooth for users.
This move represents a notable expansion of Netflix’s gaming ambitions beyond mobile platforms, aiming to create a social and interactive experience for households during the holiday season. It could also mark the beginning of a larger strategy to integrate gaming more deeply into the streaming platform.
