Krysten Ritter and Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum Hint at New ‘Jessica Jones’ Projects in the Works
It looks like Jessica Jones could be returning to screens soon. According to Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum, new stories centered on Krysten Ritter’s iconic character are currently being developed.
More than five years after Jessica Jones ended in 2019, Ritter’s super-powered private investigator is already set to make her comeback in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which premieres on Disney+ in March 2026.
The show’s revival has sparked new interest in seeing other Marvel Netflix heroes return, with Jessica Jones topping many fans’ wish lists.
During a recent interview on Phase Hero, Winderbaum, who oversees Marvel’s streaming, television, and animation projects, hinted that Ritter’s return might come sooner than expected. When asked about the idea of a Jessica Jones: Born Again series, he replied, “Maybe sooner than you think.”
Ritter herself added fuel to the excitement when she talked about her hopes for the character’s future. She said she still feels there’s more story to tell and suggested that new plans are already in motion. “There’s a lot of stuff that I’ve felt there was room to explore, and Brad and I talked about it. And I am not going to say any of it, because we’re going to be doing it,” she teased.
Although Marvel hasn’t officially announced a new Jessica Jones series, both Winderbaum’s and Ritter’s comments make it sound like something is brewing. Given how well Daredevil: Born Again has been received, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Marvel decided to give Jessica her own new chapter.
Ritter’s upcoming appearance in Born Again will mark her first time playing Jessica Jones since the Netflix series ended. The new season will follow Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock as he faces off against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, now the mayor of New York City, while building a team that includes familiar faces like Ritter’s Jones.
Bringing Jessica Jones back is a great move. The character has always stood out as one of Marvel’s most grounded and complex heroes, and Krysten Ritter gave her real depth. If Marvel gives her a fresh story, it could be one of the best returns in the MCU’s TV lineup. What do you think, are you excited to see Jessica Jones again? Share your thoughts in the comments.
