‘Jurassic World 5’ Reportedly in the Works: What We Know So Far
Following the huge success of Jurassic World: Rebirth, it looks like the franchise isn’t slowing down. The fifth Jurassic World movie is reportedly in the works, according to Jeff Sneider of The InSneider.
Rebirth, which hit theaters in the U.S. this past July, is the fourth film in the Jurassic World series and the seventh in the larger Jurassic Park franchise, which began with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic. The movie performed extremely well at the box office, earning around $868.5 million worldwide.
Sneider reports that director Gareth Edwards, who led Rebirth, is in final talks to return for Jurassic World 5. Edwards is known for films like Monsters (2010), Godzilla (2014), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), and The Creator (2023).
Fans of the series may also see familiar faces return. Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali are expected to reprise their roles as Zora Bennett, Duncan Kincaid, and Dr. Henry Loomis, respectively.
At this time, no writer has been confirmed for the next installment, and plot details are still under wraps. Insider EmpireCity Box Office reports that Universal Pictures is aiming for a release around 2027 or 2028, indicating that the studio is fast-tracking the project.
With the success of Rebirth and the return of key talent, anticipation for Jurassic World 5 is already building.
