As fans wait for the third season of Euphoria to arrive next year, rumors are spreading that Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney’s once-close friendship might be falling apart.

The two actresses, who became close after filming the first two seasons of the HBO hit, have reportedly drifted apart in the past year because of personal and political differences.

According to reports, things started to change when Sydney, 28, found herself in the middle of several controversies. She launched her own “bath water soap,” appeared in a questionable American Eagle ad, and faced criticism for her links to the Republican party.

Many fans accused her of promoting racist ideas, but Sydney has stayed silent about the backlash. Meanwhile, Zendaya, 29, has apparently chosen to distance herself from the situation.

One insider told the Daily Mail, “It’s a difficult position for Zendaya to be in because if she even stands next to Sydney on the red carpet, it can be read as her excusing Sydney’s views on Trump and her refusal to apologize for the racist ad.”

Another report by Poprant quoted pop culture investigator Sloan Hooks, who said, “With her career at a peak, Zendaya reportedly doesn’t want off-screen drama spilling into her professional projects.”

Things heated up even more after former President Donald Trump praised Sydney’s American Eagle ad, saying he supported the campaign after learning she was a registered Republican.

When Sydney was asked about Trump’s support, she said it was “surreal.” Zendaya, on the other hand, has made it clear she does not support him.

Rumors of tension grew again when some fans claimed Sydney had flirted with Zendaya’s fiancé, Tom Holland. On TikTok, users pointed out that Sydney’s social media accounts had liked posts about Tom, which some saw as a sign of interest.

In one old interview from 2022, Sydney laughed and said the Euphoria cast “just need Spider-Man to come in and save the day,” referring to Tom’s superhero role. The moment went viral after fans noticed her co-stars’ blank reactions during the call.

At the time, Sydney was engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino, whom she had been dating since 2018.

Neither Zendaya nor Sydney has spoken publicly about their rumored feud, but fans keep discussing it online. With Euphoria season three on the horizon, many are wondering if the tension between the two stars will affect the show, or if the rumors are just another example of Hollywood drama getting out of hand.
