Cynthia Erivo Slays on the Cover of GQ’s Men of the Year Issue
Cynthia Erivo is making headlines as the cover star of GQ’s Men of the Year issue, which was released on November 13, 2025.
The actress and singer’s feature has caused some confusion online, with fans questioning why she was chosen for a magazine issue that highlights men. The cover photos were shared by Erivo on her Instagram.

In her interview with GQ, Erivo opened up about her relationship with her father. She revealed that the last time she saw him, she was just 16 years old. Their final meeting happened at a tube station in London after a disagreement about tickets. According to Erivo, her father said, “‘This will be the last time I ever see you.’ Just like that. I just didn’t see it coming. I guess you wouldn’t, would you?”
Since that day, Erivo has had no contact with her biological father. She said she knows nothing about his life, religion, or relationships, and she doesn’t even have his phone number.
However, she notices similarities in their features, especially a gap between her front teeth. Erivo reflected on the connection in a lighthearted way, saying, “It’s a supreme joke. It’s a joke from the universe to remind me how human I am. I used to hear him all the time—he had a lovely voice. And so I think that’s where my voice comes from, which is so annoying and crazy, but… fine. It is what it is.”
Despite her distance from her father, Erivo shares a close bond with her mother, Edith. She even named her production company Edith’s Daughter as a tribute to her.
