The New ‘Knives Out’ Trailer Just Dropped and It’s Killer
A new trailer for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery has just come out, giving audiences a first look at the next case for detective Benoit Blanc.
The movie is directed and written by Rian Johnson and continues the popular mystery series he started with Knives Out and Glass Onion. It brings Daniel Craig back as Blanc and introduces a large new cast, including Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church.
The film first screened at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and is set for a theater release on November 26. After that, Netflix will stream it starting December 12. Many critics who saw it early have already shared strong reactions.

This time, Blanc finds himself inside a religious community led by Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, a priest who holds a lot of influence over the people around him. When someone in the group dies under suspicious circumstances, Blanc steps in and tries to make sense of the tensions and secrets hidden within the community.
Review sites show strong support. Rotten Tomatoes lists a high score from critics, and the consensus says the film gives Blanc “a worthy mystery with its genuinely soulful fixation on faith and a scene-stealing Josh O’Connor performance, Wake Up Dead Man is another Knives Out puzzle that comes together splendidly.” Metacritic’s rating also places the movie in the “generally favorable” range.
Damon Wise from Deadline said the movie may “be the best one yet” in the series. German critic Dieter Oßwald from Programmkino.de also praised the film, saying it delivers everything fans expect, describing it as full of personality, tension and clever turns. He also highlighted Daniel Craig’s performance and said the actor brings an effortless confidence to the role.
With the new trailer now out and early reactions pointing to another hit, the movie is shaping up to be one of the major releases of the year.
