Disney’s Frozen franchise is getting ready for two more movies, and the main cast is coming back with record-breaking deals.

According to TheWrap, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad have each agreed to contracts worth more than $60 million to return for Frozen 3 and Frozen 4. The outlet says these deals are some of the biggest ever made for an animated series.

TheWrap also reports that Jennifer Lee, who directed the first two films, is coming back to direct again. Disney has been planning more Frozen projects for a while, and the franchise remains one of the company’s biggest hits.

The second film earned $1.4 billion worldwide, following the original’s $1.3 billion box office run. Because the movies rely so much on the voices of Anna, Elsa and Olaf, the studio wanted the original actors back.

Insiders said that the new contracts are far larger than what the actors made for Frozen 2, when each earned around $15 million. The new agreements include upfront money and bonus payments based on how well the movies perform at the box office.

An executive familiar with the deals said the actors will not receive the money all at once and explained that the upfront payment for each star is close to $20 million, with the rest coming over time.

Disney CEO Bob Iger first shared that a third movie was in development back in February 2023. It should be noted that Disney later moved the release date, with Frozen 3 now scheduled for November 24, 2027.
