New Look at ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Released: Fans Get a Sneak Peek
A new international poster has been released for the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian and Grogu, giving fans a new look at the adventure ahead.
The film, directed by Jon Favreau and co-written by Favreau and Dave Filoni, continues the story from the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian (2019–2023), and stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian, alongside Grogu. Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne also join the cast, according to sources at Lucasfilm.

Originally, a fourth season of The Mandalorian was planned, with Favreau and Filoni having completed the scripts by February 2023. However, the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes delayed production, leading Lucasfilm to shift focus and prioritize a feature film instead. The project was officially announced in January 2024, with filming taking place in California from August through December of the same year.
Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the story follows Din Djarin and Grogu as they are enlisted by the New Republic to face remaining Imperial warlords who threaten the galaxy. Sigourney Weaver plays Ward, a colonel leading the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers. Jeremy Allen White portrays Rotta the Hutt, the son of the late Jabba the Hutt, while Jonny Coyne takes on the role of an Imperial warlord commanding remnants of the Empire.
In addition to the main cast, Dave Filoni returns as X-wing pilot Trapper Wolf from the series, and fans will also see Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios from Star Wars Rebels (2014–2018), along with members of the Anzellan species previously seen in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
The new poster highlights both Din Djarin and Grogu in action, giving fans a glimpse of the epic scale and adventure to expect. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on May 22, 2026, and is expected to be released in IMAX for an enhanced viewing experience.
