New Cast Member Joins the Live-Action ‘Tomb Raider’ Series
Amazon Prime Video’s live-action Tomb Raider series is slowly filling out its cast as production prepares to start in January. Sophie Turner has already been confirmed to play Lara Croft, and Variety reports that Martin Bobb-Semple is joining the show in a major role as a series regular.
The series is based on the famous video game franchise. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is leading the project as creator, writer, and executive producer.
Chad Hodge is also on board as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Waller-Bridge. Jonathan van Tulleken will direct and serve as an executive producer. Shooting is scheduled to begin on January 19.
Bobb-Semple is a rising British actor. He recently played Orlando “Lando” Johnson on The CW’s All American: Homecoming, starting as a recurring character and later becoming a series lead in season 3.
He also starred in Peacock’s One of Us is Lying and led the Netflix series Free Reign. He began acting in London’s West End as a child and trained at the Identity School of Acting. His first TV role came shortly after for the BBC.
This new addition adds more excitement to the Tomb Raider series, which has been in development at Prime Video since early 2023 and was officially greenlit in May 2024. It will be interesting to see how Bobb-Semple’s character fits into Lara Croft’s world.
