Beignet Blanc Solves the Mystery in ‘Sesame Street’ Meets ‘Knives Out’ Crossover
Fans of Knives Out have long hoped for a surprising crossover. Benoit Blanc, the famous detective known for solving tricky cases, usually deals with adults. But now, he is facing a very different group of suspects, puppets from Sesame Street.
Netflix and Sesame Workshop have teamed up to make this unusual idea real. They released a short video called “Forks Out,” where Cookie Monster’s triple-berry pie goes missing. The thief is unknown, and the case calls for a clever detective.
That’s where Beignet Blanc comes in, a puppet version of Daniel Craig’s iconic sleuth. “I have arrived to this street of Sesame,” Beignet Blanc says, “on a sunny day turned cloudy.” Now, he must figure out who stole the pie. Could it be Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, Zoe, or even Cookie Monster?

Beignet Blanc shows the same sharp thinking as the original Blanc. Fans may notice references to classic mysteries, including The Murder on the Orient Express and Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case. Even Sesame Street fans might spot older characters like Herbert Birdsfoot making a small appearance.
This fun short is timed with the release of Netflix’s new movie, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which hits the streaming service on December 12. At the same time, viewers can enjoy the latest season of Sesame Street, also on Netflix.
