Hulu has shared the first teaser for the Malcolm in the Middle reboot, giving fans a glimpse of what’s coming in the new series.

The short clip includes a familiar moment from the original show, showing Bryan Cranston’s Hal getting his back shaved, just like in the very first episode of the Fox sitcom.

The revival, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, will be a limited four-episode series. It is set to premiere in 2026 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the United States, while international audiences will be able to watch it on Disney+.

According to Hulu, the story brings Malcolm back into the chaos of his family when Hal and Lois insist he attend their 40th-anniversary party, even as he tries to protect his daughter from the same kind of family drama he grew up with.

The original cast returns for the revival, including Bryan Cranston, Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek, Chris Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Emy Coligado. They will be joined by new characters, including Malcolm’s daughter Leah, played by Keeley Karsten; Kelly, Malcolm’s youngest sibling, played by Vaughan Murrae; Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend, played by Kiana Madeira; and Dewey, played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.

The series is produced by Disney Branded Television and 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, in collaboration with New Regency. Linwood Boomer, who created the original show, returns as writer and executive producer.

Bryan Cranston is also an executive producer along with Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, and New Regency executives Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann. Ken Kwapis will direct all four episodes and serve as executive producer, with Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye as co-executive producers.
