Pamela Anderson, 58, Finally Opens Up About Romance with Liam Neeson, 73: “We Were Having Fun”
Pamela Anderson has finally opened up about her brief romance with Liam Neeson. In a new cover story with People published on December 9, the “Baywatch” star, 58, confirmed that she and her “Naked Gun” co-star shared a short-lived romantic connection.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” Anderson told People.
She described spending what she called an “intimate week” at Neeson’s home in New York, including a dinner at a small French restaurant where he jokingly introduced her as the “future Mrs. Neeson.”
After their so-called “lost week” together, the pair went their separate ways to focus on other projects. They did reconnect during promotion for “The Naked Gun” over the summer. “We were having fun,” Anderson said, likening their time together to a “Nancy Meyers film.”
Despite the short romance, Anderson emphasized that she and Neeson are now close friends. “We are better friends, in full honesty,” she said. “We will always be in each other’s lives.”
Anderson played the love interest of Neeson’s character in the slapstick comedy, which hit theaters in August. During the press tour, the pair sparked rumors after appearing close and sharing a kiss on the cheek at the London premiere.
When asked about their relationship on the “Today” show in July, Neeson kept things vague, saying, “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors.”
Some speculated their romance was a publicity stunt for the movie, but Anderson dismissed that idea. “I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt?’ This is real. We have real feelings,’” she told People.
Pamela Anderson’s candid revelation gives fans a clear picture of what was happening behind the scenes while promoting “The Naked Gun,” confirming that their brief romance was genuine, even if it didn’t last.
