Ben Affleck Caught in Awkward Reunion with Exes Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner at School Play

Ben Affleck recently found himself in an unusual situation when he attended a school play starring his children alongside both of his ex-wives, Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez. The event, which took place on Friday in Los Angeles, brought together the former couple Garner and Affleck, as well as Lopez, who shares a child with Affleck from their previous relationship.

Photos obtained by Page Six showed Affleck walking into the playhouse with his son Samuel, 13, and ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez arrived separately with her mother and manager. Although the former flames were in the same space, they largely kept their distance.

At one point, Affleck and Lopez were within view of each other, but they spoke to separate groups of parents. Samuel, however, shared a few laughs with Lopez outside, showing a lighter side to the gathering.

Affleck and Garner were married from 2005 until 2018 and share three children. Even after their divorce, they maintained a strong co-parenting relationship, with Garner supporting Affleck during some of his personal struggles. After his split from Garner, Affleck rekindled his relationship with Lopez in 2021, leading to a second engagement and a marriage in 2022. They eventually separated in April 2024, and Lopez finalized the divorce in February 2025.

Throughout his life, Affleck has been in high-profile relationships with several other actresses, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Lindsay Shookus, and Ana de Armas. Despite the media attention, he has consistently tried to protect his children from paparazzi intrusion and has advocated for laws to limit harassment of celebrity kids.

This rare gathering highlighted the complexities of co-parenting among high-profile exes. It seems both Affleck and his former partners prioritized their children over any lingering awkwardness.
