‘N.C.I.S: Los Angeles’ Actress, Passes Away Unexpectedly at 45 Family Issues Statement
Australian actress Rachael Carpani has passed away at the age of 45. Her family shared the news on Instagram on Monday, Dec. 15, describing her death as unexpected but peaceful. According to the statement, Carpani had been living with a chronic illness.
“It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December,” the post read.
The family added that her funeral will be a private event on Dec. 19, attended only by close family and friends. “The family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will be making no further statements,” the caption concluded.
Carpani was best known for her role as Jodi Fountain in the Australian drama McLeod’s Daughters, which aired from 2001 to 2009. She also appeared in several U.S. television shows and films, including N.C.I.S: Los Angeles, The Rachels, If There Be Thorns, The Glades, and the lead role in Lifetime’s Against the Wall. Additionally, she starred in the 2009 film Triangle alongside Liam Hemsworth, according to IMDb.
