LA Landlord Moves to Evict Mickey Rourke Over Massive Rent Debt
Oscar-nominated actor and former boxer Mickey Rourke is facing eviction from his Los Angeles home after reportedly falling behind on rent.
Court records show the 73-year-old allegedly owes close to $60,000 in unpaid rent.
Rourke was served with a three-day notice to pay or leave by December 18, after missing payments on a Beverly Grove rental where the monthly rent had reached $7,000.
At the time the notice was issued, he reportedly owed $59,100. His current financial situation has not been confirmed.
The court documents explain that the notice was both posted at the property and mailed because “no person of suitable age or discretion” could be located at the home. The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath property, built in 1926, is described on Zillow as a “nicely upgraded Spanish bungalow.”
This legal trouble adds to a long history of ups and downs for Rourke, whose career has been marked by both major successes and high-profile setbacks, from Hollywood fame to personal struggles.
Even well-known celebrities can face serious financial issues, and this shows how unpredictable life can be, no matter your fame. What do you think about Rourke’s situation? Should he have handled his finances differently, or do you feel sympathy for him? Share your thoughts in the comments.
