Netflix Brings Back One of Its Biggest Drama Series for Season 6
Netflix has officially renewed Emily in Paris for season six. The show, led by Lily Collins, continues to be a strong performer for the streaming service. The renewal was announced shortly after the release of season five, which quickly drew a large global audience.
Season five performed well in its first days. Netflix reported that the new episodes reached 26.8 million views worldwide in just 11 days. The total watch time reached 155 million hours, showing that interest in the series remains high.
The latest season took the story in a new direction. Emily spends time in Italy, where she helps expand her marketing firm by opening a new office in Rome. While living there, she starts a fresh romance. Still, by the end of the season, she decides to leave Italy behind and return to her life in Paris.
Series creator Darren Star spoke about Emily’s choice in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “She really chooses her own life in Paris and her work, and what she’s worked so hard to achieve,” he said. “I think ultimately that’s where her heart was and it clarified for her the fact that she wants to be in Paris and she wants to live there, and it’s not a temporary thing.”

Star also teased what may come next in Emily’s love life. Fans have followed her complicated relationship with Gabriel since the early seasons. According to Star, their story is not finished, but it will not be rushed. “I don’t think that Emily and Gabriel would be … I don’t think it’ll be an instant relationship, though I do believe that people can find their way back to each other,” he explained.
Season five featured many familiar faces, including Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount. The cast also included several new and returning characters played by actors such as Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque.
Emily in Paris is produced by Paramount Television Studios along with Darren Star Productions and Jax Media. Darren Star remains heavily involved in the show, serving as an executive producer with a large creative team behind the scenes.
