‘Toy Story 5’ Trailer Is Here – Woody and Buzz Battle Technology to Rescue Kids

Pixar has officially dropped the first trailer for Toy Story 5, bringing Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the gang back to theaters seven years after the events of Toy Story 4. The trailer, released Thursday, sets up a story that feels very relevant for today’s kids: what happens to toys when children are increasingly glued to screens?

In the new footage, Woody, now sporting a poncho and noticeably balding, reunites with Buzz to save Bonnie from her new Lilypad smart tablet. The duo teams up with Jessie, Forky, Slinky Dog, Hamm, Trixie, and even an army of Buzz Lightyears to fight against technology taking over playtime.

“We wanted to show a story that isn’t just good versus evil,” said director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton. “It’s about toys facing obsolescence and trying to find their place in a world full of screens.”

Toy Story 5 picks up after Toy Story 4, where Woody chose independence over staying in Bonnie’s toy chest. How the film addresses Woody’s decision and the gang’s evolving roles is still a key mystery, adding anticipation for fans of all ages.
