Hugh Jackman’s Surprise Wolverine Photo Sends Fans Into a Social Media Meltdown
Hugh Jackman gave fans a fun surprise this week after posting a photo that instantly brought back memories of Wolverine. In the picture shared on his social media, his hair sticks out at the sides in the same sharp style that made his X-Men character famous.
Jackman laughed at the moment himself. In his caption, he wrote, When you wake up, look in the mirror, and realize you’ve actually become the character you’ve played for 25 years. Fans quickly reacted, joking that after so many years as Logan, the look has become permanent.
The actor first played Wolverine in 2000 and has returned to the role many times. Most recently, he appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds. The film was a big success and marked another chapter in his long run as the clawed superhero.
Outside of comic book films, Jackman has stayed busy. He recently starred in Song Sung Blue, now streaming on Peacock. In the film, he plays one half of a Neil Diamond tribute act opposite Kate Hudson. The role allowed him to focus on music and drama instead of action scenes.
Looking ahead, he has several new projects. He will lead The Sheep Detectives for Amazon MGM Studios. The story follows a shepherd whose sheep try to solve a mystery after his death. The cast includes Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun, and the voice of Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
He is also set to appear in The Death of Robin Hood, directed by Michael Sarnoski. The film tells the story of an older Robin Hood facing the consequences of his past.
On stage, Jackman will return to live performance with a concert run at Radio City Music Hall. The show, titled From New York With Love, will include songs from The Greatest Showman and Les Misérables. He has also launched a theater company called Together with producer Sonia Friedman, aiming to create smaller and more personal live shows in the U.S. and U.K.
Even after 25 years, Wolverine remains closely tied to Jackman’s image. A simple haircut was enough to remind fans of that bond.
