Ethan Hawke, 55, Serves Midnight Mischief on the Actor Awards Carpet
Ethan Hawke made a strong impression at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards on March 1, 2026. He showed up in Los Angeles wearing an outfit that broke away from the usual black tuxedo. Instead, he chose a bold Dior look created by designer Jonathan Anderson. The outfit included a vest with a military feel and a loose shirt that gave the whole style a dramatic twist.
His appearance came during an important night for him. Hawke was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for playing songwriter Lorenz Hart in the drama Blue Moon, directed by Richard Linklater. Even though Michael B. Jordan won the award for Sinners, many people still talked about Hawke’s performance.
In a recent interview about awards season, Hawke spoke honestly about how demanding the role was. It is true that this last year is one of the hardest working years of my life, he said.

Blue Moon is now streaming on Netflix, where viewers are also noticing his on-screen dynamic with Margaret Qualley. The movie is another collaboration between Hawke and Linklater. The two have worked together for more than thirty years.
Away from the awards stage, Hawke has stayed busy. His film The Weight premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was produced by his wife, Ryan Hawke. He is also preparing for a new project called Transcendentalism, where he will play Ralph Waldo Emerson alongside Natalie Portman and Oscar Isaac.
Fans have also seen him return to horror with Black Phone 2 and take on television with the FX series The Lowdown. On top of acting, Hawke has been working on writing a novel and directing theater in New York.
His presence at the Actor Awards showed that he still has a strong place in the industry. With the Oscars coming soon, attention around his work in Blue Moon continues to grow.
It is refreshing to see an actor take risks both on screen and on the red carpet. Hawke seems to enjoy pushing limits instead of playing it safe. What do you think about his bold style and his performance in Blue Moon? Share your thoughts in the comments.
