Andrew Garfield, known for his iconic role as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man films, shared his reaction to the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day during the UK premiere of The Magic Faraway Tree. The actor, who also appeared alongside Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, has been a fan favorite for his portrayal of the web-slinging hero.

Although Garfield didn’t watch the trailer with sound, he admitted to seeing the visuals. “I haven’t seen it yet with sound. I’ve seen it without sound, because I was in a makeup chair and I didn’t want to disturb everyone. But it looks cool. It was very, very cool,” he told reporters, sharing his excitement while staying professional on set.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature Tom Holland as the main Spider-Man, alongside stars like Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, and Zabryna Guevara. Garfield’s reaction, while brief, has already sparked fan speculation about whether he might have a secret cameo, despite repeatedly denying involvement in other recent Spider-Man projects.

When asked about returning to the role officially, Garfield hinted that he would be open to reprising Peter Parker only in a very unusual and surprising story. “I would love to play the character again in some capacity, but I think it would have to be very weird,” he explained. He emphasized that any comeback would need a script that is “something very unique and offbeat and surprising.”

While Holland continues to lead the Spider-Man franchise within the MCU, he has made it clear that both Garfield and Maguire have influenced his version of the character. Holland noted that his new Spider-Man suit is an “homage to Tobey and Andrew’s suits” and that he drew inspiration from their work.

“I really like the idea that he’s trying to be his big brothers, that he looks up to them and sees little details on their suits that he thinks are really cool, and now that he is making his own suit and isn’t part of some bigger team,” Holland shared, highlighting the respect and legacy that past Spider-Men bring to the franchise.

Garfield’s reaction reminds fans of the strong connection the former Spider-Man actors have to the character, and his words have already fueled excitement across social media. While he may not appear on screen in Brand New Day, his opinions and admiration for the new film reinforce his lasting impact on the Spider-Man legacy.

Andrew Garfield’s reaction is a perfect mix of excitement and humility. It’s clear he still cares deeply about the character and the fanbase, and even a small comment like this can send the internet into a frenzy. What do you think, would you love to see Garfield swing back as Spider-Man, or should Tom Holland continue to carry the mantle solo? Share your thoughts in the comments.
