Megan Thee Stallion has taken a short break from Moulin Rouge! The Musical after a sudden health issue during a live performance in New York.

According to a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, the performer was taken to a hospital on Tuesday night after feeling unwell on stage. Doctors later found that she was dealing with extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels. After receiving care, she was released and is now recovering.

Because of this, she did not appear in the April 1 afternoon show. A notice from ATG Tickets confirmed that her role as Zidler would be covered for that performance. Her team says she plans to return to the stage soon, possibly as early as Thursday.

Megan also spoke directly to fans and shared how serious the moment felt. She said, “Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough.” She explained that she tried to keep going but could not continue, adding, “I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t.”

She reassured her fans that she just needs a short break. “I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been..I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve.” She also thanked her supporters for standing by her during the moment.

The incident shows how demanding live shows can be, especially when artists push themselves too hard. Even with a packed schedule, taking care of health is important.

It’s good that Megan listened to her body and took a step back. It’s better to pause than risk something worse. Fans will always understand when it comes to health. What do you think about her decision to return so quickly after this scare? Share your thoughts in the comments.
