Krysten Ritter (44) Returns as Jessica Jones, Rocking Her Classic Leather Jacket
The streets of Hell’s Kitchen are getting a familiar visitor back. Krysten Ritter is reprising her role as Jessica Jones for Season 2 of Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
One of the most talked-about parts of her comeback is the character’s iconic black leather jacket. Ritter shared that she kept her original jacket from the Netflix Marvel era and worked with the costume designer on a new one to make sure the look felt authentic for the new series. “I kept the original jacket from the Netflix Marvel Era and collaborated with the costume designer on the new one,” she said, maintaining a link to Jessica’s past while updating it for the current story.
The jacket is a rugged motorcycle style, featuring worn black leather, wide lapels, and silver zippers. In the show, Jessica pairs it with distressed jeans and combat boots, giving her a grounded, street-level look that fits her reluctant hero persona. The outfit acts as armor for a woman who prefers to operate in the shadows rather than be a traditional superhero.

Ritter’s return is part of a larger effort to bring beloved characters from previous Marvel TV shows into the main MCU timeline. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 also features Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, and appearances from Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson. The season is now streaming on Disney+.
Outside of Marvel, Ritter has been keeping busy with acting and creative projects. She stars in the sci-fi series Orphan Black: Echoes and has directed episodes of Jessica Jones. Her production company, Silent Machine, focuses on stories with strong female leads. She’s also a published author, with her thriller novel Bonfire adding to her creative resume.
Ritter has spoken about her connection to Jessica Jones, saying the character represents “a different kind of hero, one who is beautifully messy, deeply flawed, and profoundly human.” Her return highlights why the character still resonates with audiences and why street-level heroes continue to be an important part of the MCU.
Bringing Krysten Ritter back as Jessica Jones was a smart move. The character’s mix of strength, wit, and vulnerability adds depth to the Daredevil universe. Seeing her iconic leather jacket return is not just a costume choice—it’s a symbol of her legacy in the Marvel world.
