Jesse Metcalfe is opening up about his approach to aging, and it turns out he’s keeping things simple.

In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, the 47-year-old actor shared that he has only tried one cosmetic treatment so far—and it didn’t exactly go as planned. He revealed, “I had a little bit of Botox in my forehead one time,” but quickly regretted it after seeing the results. “I got home and my eyebrows were uneven and I’m like, ‘I’m never doing this again.’”

Since that experience, he has stayed away from anything too drastic. While he is not fully against small, non-invasive treatments, he made it clear he has no plans to go further. “I’m not opposed to non-invasive procedures like that,” he said, adding, “I’m not really looking to go under the knife ever.”

Instead, Metcalfe is focused on maintaining his appearance in a more natural way. He explained that his goal is to take care of his skin and slow down aging without surgery. “I just want to do everything I can to maintain the elasticity of my skin before I even do anything like that.”

Interestingly, looking younger has not always worked in his favor. The actor admitted that his youthful appearance sometimes makes it harder to land certain roles. “Funny enough it’s kind of a disadvantage,” he said. “Because when you reach my age, people want you to be playing these more mature roles… and sometimes I don’t look old enough.” He added that this leaves him in an awkward position, where he does not quite fit the roles expected for his age.

Still, he sees a positive side to it. He believes his look has helped him build trust in the beauty and skincare space. “I’ve been really blessed within the industry,” he shared, noting that people often notice how young he looks.

Metcalfe also reflected on an earlier moment in his career during an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. He spoke about his time on Desperate Housewives and how his role came to an end after the first season. “I was fired from Desperate Housewives. After the first season, they didn’t really know where else to take my storyline,” he said. According to him, creator Marc Cherry explained the show needed to focus elsewhere.

At the time, Metcalfe did not see it as a setback. He was already preparing for his role in John Tucker Must Die and stayed optimistic. “I was like, ‘Hey, cool. No big deal. I’m gonna be a movie star,’” he recalled, saying he took the situation in stride.

Looking at everything, Metcalfe seems comfortable with where he stands today. He is not chasing drastic changes and appears focused on staying natural while continuing his work.

His approach feels refreshing in an industry that often pushes extremes. Choosing balance instead of pressure can be hard, especially in Hollywood. It also shows that even something seen as an advantage, like looking young, can come with its own challenges. What do you think about his decision to avoid surgery and keep things natural?
