New “Avengers: Endgame” Footage Confirmed for Theatrical Re-Release Before “Doomsday”
Marvel Studios is planning a return of “Avengers: Endgame” to cinemas, and the new release will include additional footage not shown in the original version. The re-release is meant to lead into the next big crossover film, “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is also on the way.
The update was shared during a Walt Disney Studios presentation at CinemaCon. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed that the September 25 re-release will not be just a repeat screening. Instead, it will include new scenes added to the already long film.
This special version of “Endgame” is part of a wider strategy ahead of “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18.

Disney is also introducing a new cinema format label called “Infinity Vision.” It will be used for both films in selected theaters. The company describes it as a way to highlight premium screening experiences for audiences who want higher image and sound quality.
According to Andrew Cripps, head of theatrical distribution at Walt Disney Studios, the goal is to improve how films are presented in theaters.
He said, “Disney’s standards for production quality are second to none, with every single detail of a film finely tuned for an immersive experience. Infinity Vision certification extends that commitment to the theaters themselves, representing a shared effort between The Walt Disney Studios and the exhibition community to help audiences quickly find the very best screens in their area to experience our films in exactly the way they’re designed to be seen – on a huge screen with the sharpest, clearest color and sound.”
The “Infinity Vision” label is designed for theaters that meet specific technical standards. These include large screens, laser projection, and improved sound systems meant to create a more immersive viewing experience.
There is also added attention on the December release window. “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to open the same day as “Dune: Part Three,” which will have a strong IMAX rollout due to how it was filmed.
Marvel has not yet revealed what new content will be added to “Endgame,” but more details are expected closer to release.
This feels like a smart move from Marvel to build hype again before “Doomsday.” Adding new footage to “Endgame” will definitely get fans curious, even if it’s just a small amount. At the same time, it will be interesting to see if this kind of re-release actually adds value or just feels like a marketing push. What do you think about “Endgame” coming back with new scenes?
