To mark 15 years since Game of Thrones first arrived, HBO is rolling out a special physical release aimed at collectors and long-time fans. At the same time, the anniversary has also brought attention back to memories from the cast’s final day on set, a moment many fans still talk about.

The new release is a full series 4K Ultra HD steelbook collection that brings together all eight seasons of the show in one boxed set. It is being offered as a premium library-style package. Preorders are already live at selected retailers, including Gruv and Walmart, with prices listed around $224.99. A listing is also up on Amazon, but ordering there is not fully active yet.

The official release date for the set is November 3. Fans who want it will need to wait until then for shipping, even though preorders are already open.

The design of the collection is built around the show’s most recognizable symbol, the Iron Throne. The main case features it prominently, along with a numbered limited edition mark. Inside the box, each season is packaged in its own steelbook, with artwork highlighting key characters from different parts of the series. A small collectible booklet is also included to add extra value for fans who enjoy behind-the-scenes content.

The release is not just about packaging. It also includes a large amount of bonus material, totaling more than 15 hours. This includes a reunion special hosted by Conan O’Brien, a documentary focused on the production of the final season, an animated feature explaining the history of the Seven Kingdoms, and additional extras like deleted scenes, commentary tracks, and behind-the-scenes footage.

The timing of the release also brings renewed attention to the end of the series, including the emotional final day of filming for the cast, which remains a major talking point among fans even years later.

This kind of release shows how strong the legacy of Game of Thrones still is. Even after the show ended, there is still clear demand for physical collector editions and extra content. It is mostly aimed at dedicated fans, especially with the price point, but it does offer a full package for anyone who wants to revisit the series in a more complete format. What do you think about this anniversary steelbook release? Would you consider buying it, or is streaming enough now? Share your thoughts in the comments.
