Nicholas Galitzine has opened up about the intense physical transformation he went through to play He-Man in the upcoming film Masters of the Universe. The actor takes on the role of Prince Adam, who becomes the powerful hero of Eternia, and he had to significantly change his body for the part.

To prepare, Galitzine committed to a strict training and diet plan that focused on building muscle and increasing strength. He worked closely with celebrity trainer David Kingsbury, who is known for training major Hollywood stars such as Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth, and Ryan Reynolds.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Galitzine described how demanding the process was. He explained that it required full commitment over several months and pushed him to his limits. He said, “Truthfully, I feel like I learned a lot about myself and how far I was willing to push myself and really suffering for it. And it took a really, really long time. It’s really not for the faint of heart. This is something that you need to do full-time for six months minimum, but I’m really happy.”

He also spoke about the unusual experience of filming in costume while going through such a physical change. The actor noted how strange it felt at times being dressed as He-Man while others around him were in regular winter clothing. He added that watching his body change day by day became a very personal journey.

Galitzine also shared that the transformation felt more real when people who had not seen him for months reacted to his new appearance. He said that those reactions helped him understand how much he had changed during preparation for the role.

The film’s producer Jason Blumenthal praised Galitzine’s dedication, saying the transformation was completely real and achieved without shortcuts. He emphasized that the actor committed fully to the process and trained consistently over many months.

Director Travis Knight also commented on the change, saying he was surprised by how much muscle Galitzine had gained in a short time. He noted that comparing early photos with later ones made the difference even more striking.

According to production details, Masters of the Universe is scheduled to be released in cinemas on June 5.

This kind of transformation shows how far actors are willing to go for physically demanding roles, especially in big franchise films. It also adds pressure, since these changes take months of work and discipline. What do you think about extreme body transformations for movie roles? Share your thoughts in the comments.
