‘Devil May Cry’ Season 2 Trailer Brings Back Its Most Divisive Storyline in a Big Way
Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming second season of its animated Devil May Cry series, giving fans another look at what is coming next for Dante and the world he moves through.

Mundus appears briefly in the trailer, but his role seems consistent with how he was originally portrayed in the games. He is presented as a major ruler within the demon world, previously stopped by Sparda, the legendary demon warrior who sealed off the connection between the human and demon realms. That past action, while heroic on the surface, is also hinted to have caused long-term consequences for demons trapped on the other side.
Arius’ appearance is one of the most talked-about parts of the trailer. In the games, he was a wealthy and dangerous figure who tried to gain near-godlike power through demonic forces. He was eventually defeated, but he is not as widely remembered compared to other villains in the franchise, partly because Devil May Cry 2 itself received a mixed reception and is often seen as one of the weaker entries in the series.
