First Look: ‘VisionQuest’ Set Photo Teases Major MCU Character
A new behind-the-scenes photo from VisionQuest has given fans their first look at a new character in the upcoming Marvel show.
The image was shared on Instagram by the account HMG Actors, which revealed actor Cristian Lavin in costume. He is set to play a character described as the “lead Merc” in the series. The post highlighted his role and teased that he will be part of a strong cast alongside Paul Bettany.
The caption from the account reads, “A huge shoutout to HMG actor Cristian Lavin for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Vision Quest. Cristian takes on the role of the lead Merc, starring alongside Paul Bettany. With his powerful on-screen presence and dynamic energy, he’s set to be a true standout in this all-star cast.”
VisionQuest is part of Marvel Television and will stream on Disney+. The series continues the story from WandaVision, which first introduced a new version of Vision with no memories and a completely different identity. It also follows another spin-off, Agatha All Along, released in 2024.
Alongside Bettany, the show will also feature James Spader returning as Ultron. Other cast members include Todd Stashwick and T’Nia Miller.
Details about the full story are still limited. However, Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum shared some insight into the tone of the series. He explained that the show will focus on deeper themes around family and relationships. He said, “[VisionQuest] is really about fathers and sons. And, specifically, about three generations of grandfather-father-son. Can a man who had an abusive father be a good father himself? It gets very emotional at times. And it’s exciting. It’s an exciting adventure.”
He also added, “When you see Vision kicking ass and you get all that Marvel fun and adventure, it’s all done on the backdrop of real human stakes and emotion, which makes the show feel very grand.”
The show is expected to arrive later this year, although an exact release date has not been confirmed yet.
This early look is enough to get fans interested, especially with a new character being introduced. Marvel seems to be mixing action with more personal stories again, which worked well in WandaVision. What do you think about this first look at VisionQuest? Share your thoughts in the comments.
