New ‘Scary Movie 6’ Clip Pokes Fun at ‘Michael’ in Wild Promo
Paramount has released a new short promo for Scary Movie 6, and this time the comedy leans into a parody of the upcoming Michael film.
The clip is about 60 seconds long and continues the franchise’s return to theatrical releases. It includes a joke centered on a Michael Jackson-style performance, tying into the buzz around the new Michael movie set to release around the same period.
The Scary Movie series first launched in 2000 and became known for spoofing popular horror films and pop culture moments. It returned with several sequels over the years, with the last main entry released in 2013. The upcoming film continues that same approach, but updates the targets to newer franchises and current entertainment trends.

This new installment brings back several familiar characters. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall return as part of the core group. The story once again focuses on their characters being pulled back into danger after a masked killer from their past reappears.
The trailer also highlights how wide the parody range will be. It makes fun of modern horror trends like remakes, sequels, spin-offs, and long-running franchise “final chapters” that never truly end. The film is aiming to mock as many horror-related formats as possible.

The cast also includes returning and new supporting actors such as Jon Abrahams, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Anthony Anderson, and others. Kenan Thompson also appears briefly in the promo in a comedic role involving a Michael Jackson impersonator gag.
The film is directed by Michael Tiddes, known for previous parody comedies. The screenplay comes from writers connected to the Wayans family along with Rick Alvarez. Production is handled by Neal H. Moritz and the Wayans team.
According to the official details, the plot once again centers on a group of friends facing the return of a killer tied to events from many years ago. The story follows the same basic setup as earlier films but with new pop culture references.
Paramount plans to release Scary Movie 6 in theaters in June.
This promo shows the franchise sticking closely to its original style of humor, with fast jokes and heavy pop culture parody. It clearly leans on nostalgia while trying to stay current with new films and trends. It will be interesting to see if audiences still connect with this type of comedy in the same way as before.
