Gina Carano is once again part of a major conversation around Star Wars, as new comments suggest her return might not be completely off the table.

The former The Mandalorian actor recently spoke about reconnecting with key figures behind the franchise. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Carano said she had a direct conversation with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.

“I’ve already had a conversation with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. We got onto a Zoom call. It was really nice. Dave is taking over as CEO of Star Wars. We didn’t miss a beat. Jon Favreau got on Zoom and was really funny. He was like so; where did we leave off?”

This meeting has raised questions about what could come next. Carano was removed from her role as Cara Dune in The Mandalorian after public controversy, which later led to a legal dispute with The Walt Disney Company. As part of that situation, she had previously pushed to be brought back into the franchise.

At the time of her exit, her character was expected to stay important in the story. There were even early talks about a spinoff series focused on her role, but that project never moved forward.

Right now, the future of her possible return is unclear. Major upcoming projects like The Mandalorian & Grogu are already finished, and other series connected to that timeline are already in production. That makes it hard to see where her character would fit.

Even so, the fact that these talks happened at all has caught attention. Some fans would welcome her back, while others would strongly disagree given the past controversy.

For now, nothing official has been confirmed. But the situation shows that conversations are still happening behind the scenes, even if the outcome remains uncertain.

This feels more like an early discussion than a real plan. The current direction of the franchise does not leave much space for her return, at least not in a simple way. Still, in entertainment, things can change fast. What do you think? Should Gina Carano return to Star Wars, or is it better to move on? Share your thoughts in the comments.
