First Teaser Drops for ‘The Boys’ Season 5 Episode 5
A new teaser for episode 5 of “The Boys” season 5 has been released, and it is bringing back a familiar group of actors for fans of “Supernatural.”
Information reported by Entertainment Weekly, along with comments from show creator Eric Kripke, confirms that Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins all appear together in the upcoming episode. The trio, best known for their work on “Supernatural,” reunite on screen in this installment.
Kripke also revealed that Jared Padalecki plays a character named Mister Marathon. The character has been mentioned in the series before but has never appeared on screen until now. He is linked to the early history of The Seven and was once a speed-based hero before being replaced by A-Train.
The show creator explained that this role is more than a simple cameo. He said, “I want a meaty, fun role that really turns the story.”
He also shared that Mister Marathon has existed in the show’s background lore for some time and was part of The Seven’s early structure. Kripke said bringing in Padalecki allowed the character to feel different from what fans might expect, giving him a more unusual and surprising personality.
The teaser and earlier preview footage also show tension between Mister Marathon and Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles. One moment in the footage shows Soldier Boy striking him, suggesting a direct confrontation between the characters in the episode.
A short post shared on the official “The Boys” social media account also promoted the teaser, building further excitement ahead of the episode’s release.
The reason for Mister Marathon’s return has not been fully explained. Different possibilities are being discussed within the story, including links to The Seven, Billy Butcher’s group, or larger changes happening in the superhero world after recent events in the season.
