A new image from “The Punisher: One Last Kill” has been released, giving fans another early look at the upcoming Marvel project. The image was shared by ScreenRant as part of the latest update on the special.

The project is being developed for Disney+ and is part of the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is planned as a special presentation within the MCU timeline. The special is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also co-wrote the script with Jon Bernthal.

Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher. The character was previously seen in the series The Punisher and later in Daredevil: Born Again. This new special continues his story after those appearances.

The story follows Frank Castle as he tries to step away from violence and live a quieter life. However, his attempt at peace does not last long, and he is pulled back into a dangerous situation that forces him to face his past again.

Jason R. Moore also returns in the role of Curtis Hoyle, a close friend of Castle. The cast includes several other characters connected to Castle’s past, including members of his former military unit and new figures introduced for the story.

Production on the special began in New York City in mid-2025 and wrapped shortly after. The idea for the project came together during work on Daredevil: Born Again, before being officially confirmed by Marvel Studios in 2025. The title and release date were later revealed in 2026.

“The Punisher: One Last Kill” is scheduled to premiere on May 12, and will be part of Phase Six of the MCU.

This project has strong potential because it focuses on a more personal side of Frank Castle while still keeping the action and tension fans expect. Jon Bernthal returning also adds a lot of weight to the story. What do you think about this new Punisher special? Share your thoughts in the comments.
