‘My Adventures with Superman’ Season 3 First Look Reveals New Villain
A new update on My Adventures with Superman Season 3 has revealed who the main villain will be, and it’s a familiar but dangerous name for DC fans. The information comes from an interview with showrunner Jake Wyatt published by Entertainment Weekly.
The series, which returns in summer on HBO Max, continues its animated take on Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen. This time, the story will bring a major threat straight into the spotlight right from the start.
Wyatt confirmed that the main villain of the season will be Cyborg Superman. He said, “We’re Cyborg Superman right out the gate,” and also made it clear that the show will not simply repeat the comic book version of the story. He added, “It’s not gonna be a retread of the comics,” while noting that the team is still drawing inspiration from the famous “Reign of the Supermen” storyline.

That storyline from DC Comics followed the death of Superman and the sudden appearance of several figures claiming to carry on his legacy. Among them were Steel, Superboy, the Eradicator, and Cyborg Superman, who turned out to be Hank Henshaw. In the comics, Henshaw used Superman’s image while carrying out destructive plans across Earth.
The show will not redo Superman’s death. Instead, it will focus on a different idea. Wyatt explained, “less Death and more about, ‘What’s a Superman?’ The fun thing about Reign of the Supermen is that it’s all these impostors who have the same power set but different values.”
This means Season 3 will explore different versions of heroism, including characters like Steel, Superboy, and the Eradicator, alongside Cyborg Superman. The version of Hank Henshaw in this series was already introduced at the end of Season 2 as a researcher working at S.T.A.R. Labs.
The show will also continue building its wider DC world. Jessica Cruz, who is connected to the upcoming My Adventures with Green Lantern project, is expected to appear. Cyborg Superman is also said to be a threat that could affect more than just Superman’s story.
Season 3 of My Adventures with Superman is set to premiere on June 13, 2026. Based on what has been revealed, the new season will focus on identity, power, and what it really means to be a hero, all while putting Superman against one of his most complex enemies.
