‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Is Bringing Back a Massive Cast, Including These Fan-Favorite Characters
‘Ahsoka’ season 2 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious entries in the Disney Plus era of Star Wars, and the confirmed returning cast alone is enough to get fans buzzing.
According to Screen Rant, at least thirteen characters have been confirmed to come back for the new season, spanning both the extragalactic world of Peridea and the main Star Wars galaxy where Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Imperial Remnant is rapidly growing into a genuine threat.
The most headline-grabbing casting confirmation is that Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker, though the exact nature of his role has not been specified. Whether that means more Force ghost appearances, Clone Wars flashbacks, or something more unexpected tied to the cosmic entities known as the Mortis gods remains to be seen, but his presence alone carries enormous weight for fans of Christensen’s arc across the prequel era and the first season.

Equally significant is the official confirmation that Rory McCann will take over the role of Baylan Skoll from the late Ray Stevenson, who passed away just before ‘Ahsoka’ season 1 aired.
According to Screen Rant, concept art from the Star Wars Celebration panel confirms that Baylan and Ahsoka will once again cross lightsabers as the fallen Jedi continues his search for the mysterious source of power on Peridea linked to the Mortis gods. McCann is stepping into enormous shoes, but the role itself remains one of the most compelling original characters introduced in recent Star Wars television.
Both Ahsoka Tano and her Mandalorian apprentice Sabine Wren are confirmed to return, still stranded on Peridea at the end of season one. Ezra Bridger, who made it back to the main galaxy aboard Thrawn’s Star Destroyer, will be suiting up for New Republic battles, finally stepping into the role of active Jedi hero after nearly a decade of exile.
Hera Syndulla is also back, now leading New Republic forces against Thrawn’s growing power, presumably with a well-earned sense of vindication given how little attention leadership gave her warnings in season one.
Other returning favorites include the ancient Jedi droid Huyang, voiced by David Tennant, and fan-beloved chaos engine Chopper, who Dave Filoni has promised will have an expanded role. The concept art even showed Chopper wielding a blaster, which is as on-brand as it gets. Zeb Orrellios also appears in the season two concept teaser, setting the stage for all surviving ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Spectres to finally appear together in live-action for the first time.
On the villainous side, Grand Admiral Thrawn returns with the Nightsisters at his side and what appears to be Dathomir as a new base of operations. His enigmatic right-hand man Captain Enoch is back as well. One of the new season’s most intriguing matchups comes from the confirmed face-off between Thrawn and Admiral Ackbar, a pairing with deep roots in Timothy Zahn’s original Thrawn novel trilogy. ‘Ahsoka’ season 2 is set to arrive on Disney Plus in 2026.
