Iron Studios’ New Lobo Statue for ‘Supergirl’ Is the Most Menacing DC Collectible Yet

With ‘Supergirl’ now just weeks away from its June 26, 2026 theatrical release, the marketing wave around James Gunn’s second DCU film is reaching full force. Merchandise, promo art, and collectibles have been rolling out steadily, each offering hungry fans new glimpses at the world Craig Gillespie has built on screen.

The film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, a character described as imperfect and rebellious, with the story drawing from the 2021 comic book run of the same name by writer Tom King and artist Bilquis Evely.

The film blends action, character drama, and humor in a larger sci-fi setting, with comparisons already being drawn to other space-faring superhero franchises for its vibrant visuals and unexpected tonal shifts. Alongside Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts plays the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley portrays Ruthye Mary Knolle, and David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham appear as Kara’s parents Zor-El and Alura.

But it is Jason Momoa’s Lobo who has captured the collective imagination of DC fans most intensely in the lead-up to release. Circulating the internet are new photos of a stunning Iron Studios statue based on the character’s movie appearance, showing the Czarnian bounty hunter in full intimidating form: long coat, skull-adorned armor, and his signature axe gripped tightly in hand, chain hanging at his side. The detail on the piece is remarkable, and the reaction across social media has been swift and enthusiastic.

DC Studios first teased Lobo’s comic-accurate hooked axe at the annual CCXP convention in Brazil in December 2025, with the DCU version remaining faithful to the original design featuring a large curved blade and dangling chain. That early reveal confirmed the creative direction for the character and sent excitement surging.

Lobo is not expected to be the primary villain in the film, with Schoenaerts’ Krem of the Yellow Hills rumored to be the main antagonist, but Momoa’s character is seen as having a potentially significant role in the future of the DC universe.

Iron Studios has been prolific with ‘Supergirl’ collectibles in the lead-up to the film. An earlier Lobo figure released for pre-order showcased the Czarnian anti-hero in his signature jacket, gun slung over his shoulder, cigar in mouth, and his loyal mutt Dawg at his side, retailing at $249.99 as part of the Art Scale 1/10 collection. The newer movie-accurate statue pushes the design further, leaning fully into the brutal, battle-worn aesthetic that the film appears to be going for with the character.

Comic writer Tom King has spoken about how Lobo was actually part of his original pitch for the source material, with his editors suggesting he take the character out and make Supergirl the central figure instead. Seeing him reintegrated into the film adaptation adds a certain poetic quality to the whole project. Between the collectibles, the promo art, and the mounting anticipation, Lobo is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about elements of what could be a landmark summer for the DCU.
