Meet Kitty From’Euphoria’: The Star With a Legendary Artistic Background
The latest season of Euphoria continues to spark strong reactions, with each new episode bringing intense moments and new faces into the story. The show has always mixed heavy themes with personal stories, and season 3 is no different.
In episode 4, titled “Kitty Likes to Dance,” viewers are introduced to a new character named Kitty. She is played by Anna Van Patten, and her performance quickly stood out. Kitty works as a dancer at a strip club called the Silver Stripper, and her storyline becomes one of the darker parts of the episode. Through the eyes of Rue Bennett, played by Zendaya, the audience sees that something is not right, even though Kitty tries to act like everything is fine.
Anna Van Patten’s name may sound familiar, and there is a reason for that. She comes from a well-known acting family. Her sister, Grace Van Patten, starred in the series Tell Me Lies. Her father, Timothy Van Patten, has worked on major shows like Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, and The Wire. Her late uncle, Dick Van Patten, was also a familiar face on television for many years.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Anna shared what it was like growing up in that environment. She spoke warmly about her uncle, saying “just so fun” and “larger than life.” She also explained how her father still helps her with auditions. “I’ve auditioned for my dad’s shows — I auditioned for a part on Boardwalk Empire. But I just wasn’t right for it. But my dad helps me with my audition tapes all the time.”
Her role in Euphoria is not an easy one. The episode shows a very difficult situation involving Kitty, and it leaves a strong impact. Anna admitted that filming those scenes was challenging. “It was tough. It’s sad and it’s dark, but it serves a purpose in the greater story. And luckily, I had so many people there to support me through it,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
The storyline also connects to Rue’s journey. Even though Rue is trying to stay on a better path, she is still surrounded by dangerous situations. When she watches what happens to Kitty through security footage, it becomes clear that the world around her has not changed. Kitty, however, does not open up when asked if she is okay, which makes the moment even more uncomfortable.
Season 3 has already divided viewers, with some saying the show feels different from earlier seasons. Still, performances like Anna Van Patten’s remind people why the series continues to get attention. Her role may be new, but it adds another layer to the story and shows how complicated and heavy this world can be.
