The Race to 007 Is a Three-Way Tie: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Henry Cavill, and Jacob Elordi Are All Deadlocked in Bond Betting Markets

The search for the next James Bond has become one of the most talked-about casting mysteries in Hollywood, and for good reason. Ever since Daniel Craig made his graceful exit in 2021’s ‘No Time to Die’, the question of who will step into those tailored suits and pick up the Walther PPK has dominated entertainment headlines, fan forums, and betting platforms in equal measure.

Production on the franchise’s future started to take real shape in June 2025, when Amazon MGM Studios confirmed that ‘Dune’ director Denis Villeneuve would helm the 26th official Bond film, with ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight attached to write the script. The combination of that caliber of filmmaker with the weight of the 007 legacy has only intensified public hunger to know who will lead the charge.

Now, a striking development in the betting markets is capturing attention across social media. According to a chart posted by Kalshi Culture on X, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Henry Cavill, and Jacob Elordi are currently sitting at an identical 12 percent probability each, creating a rare three-way deadlock in predictions for who will be cast as the next 007. The post racked up over 1.2 million views within hours of going live, reflecting just how charged the conversation around this casting remains.

Taylor-Johnson, the ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘Bullet Train’ star, had long sat near the top of the bookmakers’ lists and was once widely considered practically a certainty for the role. At the premiere of ’28 Years Later’ in London, the actor was asked by Deadline about his upcoming projects, and rather than deflecting entirely, he replied with a cryptic “I can’t talk about it,” before being quickly ushered away by his publicist. That five-word response sent fans into a frenzy and has kept his name firmly in the conversation.

Jacob Elordi, the 28-year-old Australian star of ‘Euphoria’, ‘Saltburn’, and Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’, emerged as a serious contender when rumors surfaced in February 2026 suggesting he may have been offered the role outright. Should he land the part, Elordi would not only become the second Australian to ever play Bond following George Lazenby, but at six foot five he would also be the tallest actor to take on the iconic spy.

Henry Cavill, meanwhile, has been linked to the role for years, with his physicality and screen presence making him a perennial fan favourite, though his current odds have narrowed to around 6/1 as some industry whispers suggest Villeneuve may be pursuing someone younger.

According to a Variety report, three names that have surfaced as being at the top of Amazon’s wishlist are Jacob Elordi, Harris Dickinson, and Tom Holland, with the studio appearing to skew toward British actors under thirty for what is expected to be a franchise reset. Deadline’s film reporter Justin Kroll has suggested that an official casting announcement could arrive by the middle of this year, meaning the wait for a definitive answer may finally be nearing its end.

With the betting markets now reflecting a genuine three-way standoff and industry insiders suggesting a reveal is imminent, the 007 casting race has never felt more electric. Let us know in the comments who you think should be the next James Bond and why.
