‘Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord’ Star Gideon Adlon Talks About Devon Teaming Up With Maul in Season 2

Gideon Adlon, who plays Devon Izara in Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, recently opened up about her character’s journey and especially the big decision to team up with Maul.

One of the biggest points in the season is Devon’s shift in mindset after everything she goes through. By the end of Season 1, she ends up aligning herself with Maul, which is a major turning point for her character.

Adlon explained that this choice actually made sense for her while reading the scripts. She said, “It’s something that she needs to do, and also I think she doesn’t have anywhere to go. Even though he is who he is, Maul feels like the safest option for her at this point.”

That idea of “safety” with Maul might sound strange, but the show builds Devon as someone who is confused, emotional, and trying to survive in a very harsh world. Her bond with her Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki also changes everything after a major loss, pushing her further into uncertainty.

Adlon also talked about how Devon slowly starts to see things differently, especially after meeting Maul face to face earlier in the story. She explained that Devon doesn’t fully trust him, but still sees something in him that connects to her own struggles.

According to StarWars.com, Season 2 of Maul – Shadow Lord is already being worked on, and fans won’t have to wait too long for it. Sam Witwer, who voices Maul, has also confirmed that production is moving forward, which has only increased excitement for what comes next.

For Adlon, the story is still evolving, and she made it clear that Devon’s feelings about Maul are not simple. She said it is still something she is trying to understand as the character grows.

Season 1 is now streaming on Disney+, and with Season 2 already confirmed, fans will not have to wait long to see where Devon and Maul’s strange partnership leads next.
