Steven Knight Teases New ‘Peaky Blinders’ Series in Fresh Update

A new Peaky Blinders sequel series is officially in production, with creator Steven Knight giving fans an update on how things are going.

The information comes from reports tied to BBC One, Netflix, and comments made by Knight during a BAFTA red carpet interview with Deadline.

The new series was first announced in October 2025. It is being produced by Kudos and Garrison Drama, and it will stream on Netflix while also airing on BBC One. Cillian Murphy is involved as an executive producer, continuing his connection to the franchise.

Filming for the new series began in March 2026. Several new cast members have joined the project, including Jamie Bell, Charlie Heaton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski. The show is expanding the Peaky Blinders universe with a new set of characters and storylines.

During his interview with Deadline, Steven Knight spoke briefly about the progress of the series. He confirmed that filming is moving quickly and is close to wrapping up.

He said, “I don’t know about film, we’re filming the next series at the moment that is going really well. And we will have it in the can in about, well, in a few weeks.”

Knight also hinted that the final result might surprise viewers in a good way, suggesting that the team is happy with how the new series is turning out. He added, “I think people are gonna be pleasantly surprised on how it’s turned out.”

While details about the plot are still being kept secret, the update confirms that the new Peaky Blinders series is well into production and moving toward completion.

With filming nearing the final stages and a strong new cast in place, fans will likely not have to wait too long for more updates about the next chapter in the Peaky Blinders story.
