A new fan theory is spreading online about The Odyssey, suggesting that Elliot Page might be playing the ghost of Achilles in the upcoming film.

The idea comes from a mix of trailer clues, casting patterns, and speculation about director Christopher Nolan and how he often works with familiar actors across different projects.

The theory picked up speed after a recent trailer showed Page’s character in a dark, muddy setting. In the brief moment, his character speaks to Odysseus and asks, “Who’s looking after your wife and son?” That line immediately stood out to fans because it does not directly come from Homer’s original epic. Instead, it feels like something more emotional and reflective, which has led people to connect it to Achilles’ famous underworld scene.

In the original story of The Odyssey, Odysseus meets Achilles after traveling to the underworld. Achilles, once seen as the greatest warrior of his time, regrets his life choices and says he would rather be a servant in the living world than a king among the dead. Because of this emotional moment, fans believe Page’s mysterious role could fit perfectly into that part of the story.

The speculation also connects to how Nolan tends to reuse actors across films. Over the years, he has worked with performers like Page, as well as other frequent collaborators such as Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, and Matt Damon. Because of this pattern, fans think it would not be surprising if Page was given a major symbolic role, even if it has not been officially confirmed.

The theory also gained strength because no official casting details have confirmed who is playing Achilles. At the same time, Page’s role in the film has not been revealed either. That gap in information has led fans to connect the dots and suggest that the two might be linked.

This kind of mystery casting is not new for Nolan. In earlier films like The Dark Knight Rises, key roles were kept secret until release, even when fans managed to predict them early. A similar situation is now being compared to the current speculation around Page.

Another reason the theory gained attention is because of how Achilles has been portrayed in past films. The most well-known version is from Troy, where Brad Pitt played the warrior. That performance became so iconic that fans still associate Pitt strongly with the role. Because of this, some believe Nolan may want a completely different interpretation to separate his version from earlier adaptations.

Supporters of the theory argue that Elliot Page would be a strong fit for a more emotional and reflective version of Achilles. Page is known for playing complex characters, which fans think could work well for a figure defined by regret and reflection rather than battle alone.

At this point, the theory remains unconfirmed. No official statement has revealed Page’s character in The Odyssey. Still, the idea continues to spread online, especially as fans rewatch the trailer and try to decode every detail.
