In the latest episode of The Boys Season 5, fans finally saw a short return of characters from the spin-off Gen V.

The episode brought back Marie Moreau and Jordan Li for a brief cameo. The two characters appear while speaking with Starlight and Mother’s Milk. Their role in the episode is very small and lasts only a few minutes.

During the scene, Marie and Jordan give an update about what is happening with “Oh Father” at Vought Studios. But the conversation quickly ends when Annie, also known as Starlight, tells them to leave and hide. She also makes it clear that she does not need their help anymore, saying Marie cannot control her powers.

This moment has led many viewers to believe it may be the final appearance of the Gen V characters in the main series. The show has one episode left in the season, and there is no confirmation that they will return again.

At one point, there was fan speculation that Marie could play a major role in the fight against Homelander. In Gen V, she was shown as one of the most powerful new Supes, with blood manipulation abilities that made her stand out. However, this idea is directly challenged in the episode.

Mother’s Milk even comments on her rumored strength, saying, “I heard that you’re like the chosen one and have Homelander-level strength or some shit,” to which Marie responds, “Well, reports of my awesomeness have been greatly exaggerated.”

According discussions on Reddit and entertainment coverage of the episode, many viewers were disappointed with how short the appearance was. Some felt that Marie’s storyline had been built up for a much bigger role, only for it to end in a very quick scene.

One fan reaction shared online said, “What was the point of all the Gen V hype around Marie being potentially as strong as Homelander? They spent seasons building her up as this unique blood-manipulating powerhouse from the Odessa Project only for her to get barely any screen time in the finale. Feels like massive wasted potential.”

Other viewers reacted differently, saying the scene felt intentional and even a bit meta. One comment said, “Lol the Gen V characters being so disappointed to their storyline abruptly ending is probably how the actors felt.” Another viewer added, “It was almost prophetic to how we all feel about it, kind of spooked me a bit lmao.”

There is also concern among fans because reports say Gen V has been canceled. However, showrunner Eric Kripke has suggested that the characters could still appear in future projects, though nothing has been confirmed.

With only one episode left in The Boys Season 5, the story is now heading toward its final conclusion. The season finale is expected to bring the main conflict to an end, but it is still unclear if any of the Gen V characters will return again before the series closes.
